The Public Library building is owned by the City of Weatherford and is operated as a part of the Western Plains Library System. There are approximately 70,000 books; which include a large collection of large-print books, magazines, microfilm, audio

and videotapes. Computer service is available for several periodicals, residential and business telephone numbers and access to two state newspapers. An automated card catalogue gives access to all the book collections available through the Western Plains Library System. Access to the internet is also available through the library. Book reviews and children's programs are part of the library services. Local artists and craftsmen are encouraged to display their artwork in the library. An addition completed in December 1991 provided an additional 2,600 square feet for book shelving, storytime room, and storage making a total of 10,000 square feet available for library use by area patrons.
