Established 1969
Welcome to the Thomas P. Stafford Airport. Built in 1969 the Airport is now owned and operated by the City of Weatherford. Airport Manager John Creswell and his staff welcome your arrival and invite you to take advantage of the newly updated facilities. The Airport offers full service fueling, aircraft maintenance, flight instruction, and hangar rental. We also have three courtesy cars available for your convenience. The expansion of the Thomas P Stafford Museum, and renovations to the airport terminal were completed in the fall of 2005. We now offer a larger more comfortable environment for you to relax in. In addition to the air-conditioned comfort of the pilots’ lounge we also have a well-equipped flight planning room. The Thomas P. Stafford Museum is expanding again and it is a must see attraction, directly attached to the airport terminal, for all aviation and space enthusiasts. Other annual attractions at the airport include a fathers day weekend Fly-In that is held in conjunction with the Heartland Cruise car show. In July, we showcase aerobatic pilots in the IAC sanctioned Okie Dust Devil aerobatic contest. This years Dust Devil was the 8th annual event and it was a record year for attendance. Weatherford is home to a great group of pilots and their aircraft. The camraderie is evident as you observe the locals “hangin’ out” and visiting at the hangars. The Weatherford-Stafford airport is governed by an Airport Board of Directors. They promote and provide direction for the operation of the Airport. In 2006 we added 8 new T hangars and 1 large commercial hangar, all of which boast fully electric overhead bi-fold doors. We are looking forward to taxiway and runway improvements in the near future. The airport board and city council continually strive to assess the needs of the airport and work to assure excellence for the airport and aviation in Western Oklahoma.
