Join others in participating in the City of Weatherford Parks and Recreation Department's Walking for Wellness Program. Simply register online so you can submit your miles or steps and you'll be included in the Current Totals for the City of Weatherford. It's free, it's fun and it's for everybody. Walk...for the health of it!

The Amazing Walk - May 3: ....(click here for brochure and registration)
The Amazing Walk is a FREE non-competitive and non-timed walk (no running allowed) for ALL AGES with fun activities (hoola hoop, football toss, swings, croquet and trivia questions) along the way for teams of 2-4 people. (Youth under 16 must be on a team with at least one adult and must have parent/guardian consent.)
The walk starts at 9:00 a.m. at Means Park. Check-in/Registration is at 8:30 a.m. at the Gazebo in the middle of Means Park. (No team may start the event after 9:15 a.m.) There will be prize drawings for all participants at the conclusion of the walk.
Friends and family are encouraged to participate as teams in the walk that starts at Means/Clark Parks, travels west on Huber Street, goes north on Custer Street to SWOSU clock tower on Campus Drive and returns back along same route to Means/Clark Parks. (Approx 1.5 miles)
Triple your prize drawing chances by pre-registering before May 1 at Parks & Recreation Department, SWOSU Wellness Center, Weatherford Regional Hospital or walkinginfo@swosu.edu.

Miles=3,572; Participants=42 adults, 314 elementary children. This includes walking activity submitted via walking logs as well as the walking website. Program Totals: Miles=49,137; Participants=134 adults, 588 elementary children.

Tammy Martin won the March monthly walking log drawing. Prize is two tickets to the Silver Strings event (dinner and music).
